# Salesforce just launched seven 'job-ready' AI agents. Here's what small businesses can actually use

Salesforce just announced a whole roster of AI agents with names like Casey, Hunter and Piper. If you run a small business, the obvious question is: **which of these can I use, and what will it cost?** The honest answer is that some of it is clear and some of it isn't yet.

## What Salesforce announced

On September 11, Salesforce [introduced a portfolio of "job-ready" AI agents](https://www.salesforce.com/news/stories/agentforce-job-ready-ai-agents/) for sales, service, commerce and workforce tasks. Each one is pre-built for a specific role:

- **Casey** handles customer service.

- **Paige** covers IT and HR requests.

- **Carter** guides online shoppers.

- **Hunter** works outbound sales.

- **Marshall** supports supply chain work.

- **Piper** engages and qualifies inbound leads.

- **Fin** handles customer experience workflows.

Per Salesforce, most are generally available now. Hunter, the outbound sales agent, is in pilot with general availability planned for November 2026. Salesforce also described a new runtime that lets agents work toward a goal over days and weeks rather than a single chat.

## The catch: pricing and audience

The announcement itself contains no pricing information, and it isn't framed around small businesses. One customer example: retailer Hibbett went live in six weeks. That's a useful data point, but it's not a small-business price list.

## What small businesses can use right now

The clearer SMB story is from March. Salesforce [added prebuilt Agentforce features to its Free, Starter and Pro Suites at no extra charge](https://www.techtarget.com/searchcustomerexperience/news/366640488/Salesforce-adds-Agentforce-agentic-AI-to-SMB-packages). These include an employee agent that can update CRM records, AI-drafted customer emails and customer record summaries.

A certified Salesforce MVP who tested them [found they need no setup](https://www.salesforceben.com/free-agentforce-for-small-business-an-admins-first-impressions/). She also flagged a real limit: these tiers don't include Agent Builder or Prompt Builder, so you use the prebuilt features as they are. Starter is listed at $25 per user per month and Pro at $100.

## What we'd do in your position

- **Start with the included features.** Record summaries and email drafts cost nothing extra on the Suites and can save real time on day one.

- **Clean your data first.** Any agent is only as useful as the customer records behind it. Duplicates and empty fields will show up in its answers.

- **Pick one job.** If you pilot an agent later, choose a single repetitive task, like qualifying inbound leads, and measure it.

- **Wait for pricing before committing.** With no published numbers, there's no rush to sign anything.

## Bottom line
